Do you know how the number of vinyls sold compares to Say Something and Magic?

I don't believe the numbers of vinyls sold for SS and Magic were ever made public.

Finally found this old post from 10th November (after about an hour of looking lmao) about the midweek sales:

Breakdown for sales of Magic and SS so far this week. WE NEED TO DOWNLOAD AS MANY COPIES AS POSSIBLE! All the alternative remixes etc., count towards the position.

    #23 - 4,482 - Say Something
    Vinyl: 2,517
    Overall Streaming: 1,670
    Downloads: 295

    #24 - 4,299 - Magic
    Vinyl: 1,923
    Overall Streaming: 1,626
    Downloads: 750
So itís actually interesting to see that more RG vinyls have in fact been sold in the U.K. than either Magic or SS - but streaming (and more importantly) downloads are just so much less now than back in November meaning RG will barely scrape the Top 100

We need to get seriously streaming and downloading if we are wanting for Real Groove to gain a higher peak.

This is really interesting, thanks for posting!

I canít imagine the number of vinyls pressed for RG differing significantly from those for previous releases, so Iím curious why the number is significantly higher this time.

Maybe in November some orders were shipped (or reported as such) later during the week? Shame we donít have the numbers for the full week!

didn't both SS and Magic vinyls sell out at the start and than went back on sale later on?

Thanks very much, that's really interesting. I guess as all of the orders were taken before production started, they were able to have more pressed in order to meet demand.

It doesnít necessarily mean that more RG vinyls had to be produced - it could just mean more were purchased in the U.K. compared to SS and Magic so more were U.K. chart eligible this time round hence the higher recorded numbers.

Although saying that, they could have noticed demand was higher than what they anticipated before and was able to meet that better this time around - especially that they was able to release a second batch aiming at the Australian time zone (which again shows that I donít think this release was really for the charts). And with Dua on the B-side, that might have also increased potential demand?

Given how quickly both batches sold out, I still think they could have produced slightly more and still would have sold out for this week. Also think a format or two extra (12Ē, CD and cassingles say hello) would have sold just as well - and they should definitely do this for any next lead single.
